Friendship/Partner Band
The people holding hands are symbolic of a bond, love and friendship that is never-ending. This is why the pattern repeats around the band. The sunburst symbol represents health, happiness and good living.

The Avanyu/Serpent Band
The Serpent is symbolic of rebirth and renewal, it was carved upon this ring because when someone enters a relationship/marriage, they are reborn and come into another level of being. The new self has become more because of the joining of two people. Within the body of the serpent is also a symbol of the bear claw, which is for strength and protection. The river symbol (looks like arrows in a curved row) represents the Rio Grande which flows through our village.

The Water Symbol
Often referred to as a key or "Greek key" like pattern - The water Band is in reverence to the sacred waters used in ceremonies and in everyday life. Water is essential to all life. Without it, all life would parish. It is carved upon the band to show the importance of the bond/love people share. Through love, people sustain and give life.
